QUESTIONS and ANSWERS RE
COMCAST
1. If an owner sells,
rents or is deceased and Comcast installed the different boxes for basic
cable, does this transfer to the new owner or does the previous have to
turn the equipment into Comcast? Should the equipment stay with the
unit? Ultimately with whom does the burden rest - the old owner, Comcast
or the Association?
Answer : The box does not transfer to new owner or renter.
Owner/Renter/Resident must return the boxes to Comcast when they are no
longer in the unit.
2. Going forward a unit is sold and the new owner needs
to be hooked up to Comcast once again using the basic equipment. Does
Comcast charge the new owner to set up this equipment that is part of
the contract with Comcast?
Answer: The new owner can pick up their boxes and install themselves or
if they call customer service to have tech deliver and install the boxes
there will be a one time fee.
3. If a owner has an investment property here at Huntington Pointe, what
does the renter do or owner do to have the proper equipment for the
unit?
Answer: The renter can order the boxes in their name. The renter is
responsible for returning boxes when they move.
4. Once March 31, 2011 goes by will all of the new owners be billed for
anything if they are just receiving basic Comcast as per the contract of HPA or will they be charged for equipment to be installed in their newly
acquired property?
Answer: There is no monthly charge for the basic equipment and HBO
services that are part of the bulk contract. As I mentioned above, there
will be a one time fee to have the boxes delivered and installed after
March 31, 2011.
